Overview

The Blackstone Millville Regional High School Marching Band is a competitive organization of student musicians in percussion, brass woodwind and color guard. More than 25% of the BMR student body participates in Marching Band.

 

Since its formation formed in 1970, the Chargers’ tradition of excellence has earned the band high profile appearances at national and local parades and events, including:

  • National Cherry Blossom Parade in Washington, DC
  • Gimbels’ Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia, PA
  • Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, NY
  • Disney World, Florida and Disneyland, California
  • Tournament of Roses in Pasadena, CA
  • US Bicentennial Parade in Philadelphia, PA
  • Autumnfest Parade in Woonsocket, RI
  • New England Patriots Half Time Show, Foxboro, MA

In Marching Band Competitions, the BMR Chargers routinely place at the top of their class

•   Massachusetts Instrumental, Choral Conductors Association (MICCA)
     - 27 consecutive years receiving the highest honor- Gold Medal
•   New England Scholastic Band Association
     - Division 5 Champions, 2013, 2009, 2013
     - Finished in the top 2 of Division 2006-13
•   US Bands (Formerly United States Band Association)
     - Massachusetts State Champions 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2011, 2012
     - Finished in top 5 of Division 5 and 6 at National Championships from           2008-2011
     - 2001 National Champions, Division 4A
•   Bands of America
     - Regional Class A Championship in Towson, Maryland, 2013
